There’s No Place Like Home

Founding Father Records has officially found a nice comfy place to squat.  Facebook can be a good medium but it just doesn’t have that warm feeling.  There’s no wood paneling, all the sofa cushions are stiff, and the TV remote is always broke.  Here on WordPress they’ll be plenty of hot air but at least on this page it’ll all be from Founding Father Records.

On to the music!  The first Founding Father release is just about finished and ready for pressing.  The debut release from Toms Brook, VA’s Trade will be first up.  Hills will be a CD EP that’ll feature 3 songs of overdriven rock n’ roll and span 20+ minutes.  The first track off the release, “Dirl,” can be heard at  Give it a listen!  Gracing the cover will be original artwork (see below) by VA artist Neil Stavely.  Trade and FFR couldn’t be any happier with how the cover turned out.  Neil also did art for the CD and the traycard so be sure and pick up a copy upon release to see more of his work.  For now, visit  A late March release for Hills is planned and the disc will be available to order online here at the FFR site.

Second on the docket will be an experimental release from the Strasburg, VA 2-piece, Degollado.  Dark Of The Day will be yet another 3-song CD EP that’ll feature all kinds of sonic goodness.  All tracks have been recorded and mixed and will be sent off for mastering in the coming weeks.  A late spring/early summer release is planned for Dark Of The Day.

Both bands are booking shows for the coming year with Degollado playing their debut show on March 12th in Arlington, VA.  Check out the Shows page for more information on all upcoming shows.
